Another Network takeover: Are you concerned?

Yet another Adviser firm has announced that it has been acquired by a larger rival, with Personal Touch being snapped up by a larger mortgage broker. This follows news of other takeovers in the sector, including Sanlam’s of Tavistock. Are you concerned?

When a network is taken over, there can be a lot of uncertainty. Advisers often relay to me their concerns and discontents about joining a larger, more impersonal network. Many will be concerned that their views will no longer be taken into consideration. Will you be able to offer whole of market advice, or will you be restricted?

A takeover is a good time for Advisers to consider the benefits of their firm. Is your network mainly providing what you want or what they want? Are you consulted and agreeable with all the things they introduce? Does my network help me give the best advice to my customers?
